Bandai’s Digimon line launched in 1997 with the original Digital Monster virtual pets, introducing a franchise that would grow to encompass toys, video games, animation, trading cards, and collectibles. Centred around digital creatures that evolve through multiple forms, the line became one of Bandai’s most successful multimedia properties.
