The Star Wars Expanded Universe (EU) line of 1998, by Hasbro, was a part of the Power of the Force series and marked the first time that characters from outside the core movies were given their own action figures. This line celebrated the stories that had been building around the Star Wars universe through novels like Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn, comics, and video games like Dark Forces.
