Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) – Nintendo (1983–1995)
Nintendo’s Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), released in 1983 in Japan as the Family Computer (Famicom) and internationally from 1985 onward, is one of the most influential home video game consoles ever produced. Credited with revitalising the video game industry following the North American market crash of the early 1980s, the NES established Nintendo as a dominant force in gaming and introduced many of the industry's most enduring franchises.
