Sega’s Mega Drive II, released in 1993, is the redesigned version of the original Mega Drive console, offering the same 16-bit gaming experience in a smaller and more streamlined form factor. Maintaining compatibility with the extensive Mega Drive cartridge library, the system became the standard model sold throughout much of the console’s later lifespan.
