LEGO (1932–Present)

The LEGO Group was founded in Billund, Denmark, in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen, initially producing wooden toys before moving increasingly into plastic construction toys. The name LEGO comes from the Danish phrase “leg godt,”meaning “play well.” The modern LEGO brick, using the interlocking tube system still fundamental to the brand today, was introduced in 1958, establishing the basis of the LEGO System in Play.
