M.A.S.K. – Kenner (1985–1987)

Kenner’s M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) line blended the best of 1980s action toys: G.I. Joe–style good vs evil teams, plus Transformers-style vehicle gimmicks. Released from 1985 to 1987, the series featured small 2-inch figures with removable helmets (“masks”) alongside vehicles that converted into armed combat modes – street cars into jets, motorcycles into helicopters, trucks into mobile battle stations.

Hero team M.A.S.K., led by Matt Trakker, battled the criminal organization V.E.N.O.M. (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem), led by Miles Mayhem. Standout vehicles included Thunderhawk (Camaro to gullwing jet), Switchblade (helicopter to jet), Rhino (tractor trailer to mobile command center), Condor (motorbike to copter), and many more, plus playsets and later “racing” themed waves.
