Hasbro introduced Transformers: Reveal the Shield in 2010 as a sub-line within its broader post-Revenge of the FallenTransformers range. The defining feature was the return of the classic rubsign, a heat-sensitive faction symbol that revealed whether a character was an Autobot or Decepticon when rubbed. Packaging deliberately concealed each figure’s allegiance, making the faction reveal part of the play concept.
